For some, the idea of a vote fraud conspiracy conjures up way too much cognitive dissonance. Just as the idea of US government complicity in 9/11 does.

Way too scary.

Ok, well how about a straightforward review of so-called machine "glitches" which are really malfunctions? These should break about 50-50 each way, right? That is, unless there is an underlying reason for them to go one way or the other...

My favorite mathematician on DU, Truth is All, has released a very simplistic report detailing the reported incidents on election day involving voting machine malfunction.

OF 89 NATIONWIDE RANDOM MACHINE GLICHES, 84 KERRY VOTES CAME UP BUSH!

TALK ABOUT A SMOKING GUN.
I WON'T EVEN ATTEMPT TO CALCULATE THE ODDS OF THIS. AND THE INCIDENTS WERE SPREAD AROUND THE NATION IN SEPARATE PRECINCTS.

ON EDIT: BELIEVE ME, I DID THIS WITHOUT KNOWING THAT ANOTHER DUER, SKIDS, HAS ALSO JUST POSTED A SIMLAR ANALYSIS. GREAT. MORE CONFIRMATION.

ON EDIT: CHECKED IT. THERE ARE 89 INCIDENTS, NOT 91.

TO COME UP WITH THESE STATISTICS, I FILTERED "MACHINE PROBLEMS" FROM THE 40,000 VOTER INCIDENT DATABASE. THEN I SEARCHED FOR THE NAME "KERRY" IN THE DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEM IN ORDER TO EXTRACT THOSE INCIDENTS IN WHICH IT WAS INDICATED JUST WHO THE VOTER WAS TRYING TO VOTE FOR. OF COURSE, AS YOU WOULD EXPECT, IN EVERY CASE, BOTH NAMES (KERRY AND BUSH) CAME UP, TYPICALLY AS: "TRIED TO VOTE FOR KERRY BUT THE MACHINE REGISTERED BUSH".

THERE WERE SURELY MANY MORE INSTANCES OF THIS TYPE WHICH WENT UNREPORTED. BUT THIS IS A GOOD REPRESENTATIVE SAMPLE.

OF THE 89 INCIDENTS:
84 KERRY VOTES CAME UP BUSH ON THE SCREEN
2 BUSH VOTES CAME UP KERRY
3 WERE UNCLEAR

MOST OF THE INCIDENTS WERE IN FLORIDA AND OHIO.

Certainly this does not prove anything diabolical. But it does provide support for something other than just random malfunction.
